The Focus Group consists of experienced Marketing, Economic, Business and Logistics Consultants that specialize in the provision of target-market orientated management strategies, as well as the actual IMPLEMENTATION of these plans through its fully co-ordinated National Sales Agencies, Distribution Divisions and other related service departments situated in a number of markets internationally. The company is also involved in export promotion and the analysis of investment opportunities.
The Focus Group was formed in 1985 following a long association with Unilever South Africa and the Graduate School of Business, Kwa-Zulu Natal (many of it consultants are still actively involved in providing lectures and courses on marketing, economics and logistics - see section "about us" below) and have assisted both local and international companies to:-
- launch new products, companies and/or production and property developments internationally;
- re-launch existing product and service offerings with the objective of achieving productivity and profitability improvements, by ensuring products and/or services reach target markets quicker and more cost effectively;
- instruct (or train) management and staff on the importance of these productivity improvements and how these can be achieved internally;
- physically assist companies to co-ordinate and implement marketing, business and logistics plans on an international basis.

Management and Marketing planning
- From "mind to market" - We prepare Economic, Investment, Business, Marketing and Logistics Impact Studies for any business wishing to start up a new business, product or service - from corporate companies wishing to set up production facilities and/or retail operations, to local property developers wishing to assess the feasibility of developing shopping malls, industrial parks or residential areas. We will also make sure that patents, trademarks, designs, marketing concepts, the acquisition of sales orders and physical distribution is completely taken care of;
- From "Production to Market" – we thoroughly research and assess existing Product and/or Service "Flows" in order to identify correct target marketing and distribution bottlenecks. This ultimately culminates in appropriate re-launch and/or logistics strategies that enables our clients to expand current product and/or service offerings into specific target markets and/or geographical areas. In this respect we are confident we will be able to achieve substantial cost savings for your company, as well as find alternative ways to get your product to your customer quicker and more cost effectively;
- Staff Training on the benefits of improved productivity and how to achieve this. As professional consultants and lecturers, we are adept at explaining to corporate staff members the critical link between higher productivity, higher profitability, improved market competitiveness and greater job security. We are able to creatively explain to all staff that higher productivity leads to a far better chance of achieving profitability targets and bonuses;
- Actual implementation of strategies. Our National Sales teams, Distribution Divisions and other related service departments offer a fully co-ordinated service specifically designed to IMPLEMENT plans recommended.
